I. Aims and Scope

"Gulani" is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal that publishes articles in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The journal was founded in 2008 at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University.

Mission: The journal's aim is to showcase international research in the areas of novel knowledge, theory, and methodology, both within the individual fields of Humanities and Social Sciences and at their interdisciplinary junctures. "Gulani" exclusively publishes original, peer-reviewed academic research that is grounded in rigorous scientific methods and employs quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods paradigms.

The work must be relevant to an international readership.

III. Peer Review Policy

The journal "Gulani" employs a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the objectivity and quality of the published material.

  • process: The submitted manuscripts are subject to two independent, qualified peer reviewers. The reviewers are international-level specialists, and the majority of them are affiliated with institutions distinct from those of the authors. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain confidential (Double-Blind Peer Review).

         Review Deadlines:

  • Initial Screening (Plagiarism, Relevance): 1 week.

  • Peer Review Process: 3–4 weeks.

  • Final Decision (following reviewer reports): 1 week.

        Final Decision:

The final decision (acceptance, rejection, or request for revision) is made by the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewer conclusions and the recommendations of the editorial board.

  • Review Form: Evaluation is conducted based on a standard form approved by the journal, which includes criteria concerning the originality, adequacy of methodology, and validity of conclusions.

IV. Ethical and Legal Policies

1. Publication Ethics

The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check using the Turnitin software to ensure originality. Plagiarism and data manipulation are unacceptable and will result in the unconditional rejection of the article

  • Originality: Authors must confirm that the article is original and has not been submitted to or published elsewhere. Publication Ethics

2. Open Access & Licensing

  • Open Access Status: The journal is Open Access. All content is made available free of charge immediately upon publication.

  • Licensing: Published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

  • Author Processing Charges (APC): The journal does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, processing, or publication.


V. Long-Term Archiving Policy (Digital Preservation Policy)

The journal "Gulani" ensures the long-term digital archiving and preservation of its published content.

The journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems to create distributed backup copies across various libraries and institutions. This guarantees that the journal's content will remain accessible even if publication ceases or the journal is discontinued.


Author Identification and ORCID

The journal "Gulani" fully supports open researcher and author identification standards.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID): The journal requires that all authors possess a unique ORCID ID. ORCID is an essential metadata element that ensures the correct linking and indexing of the author and their work within international bibliographic databases (such as ERIH PLUS and Google Scholar).

We request that all authors provide their ORCID ID upon submission of the article.
